There are times I become completely submerged in my computer. After I come up for air I feel as if my mind could just explode from information overload. I can see that I excessively consume information and it leaves my soul feeling sluggish and weighed down, just as if I’d eaten way too much for dinner.
Ken Wytsma writes, “At some psychological level, we’re addicted to our approach to information and it’s hard to resist the temptation to try to subtract by continuing to add.”
More information will not get us where we’re trying to go! We can stop trying to climb up for God has already come down. He has given us The Christ, all that we need. Paul teaches, “Don’t copy this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” So! Let’s put our childish ways behind us in order to renew our minds and grow our souls. We can begin our journey by practicing self assessment, looking inward rather than pointing fingers outward and loving others as ourselves.
Less information. More transformation.
